Hip Hop and the Prison Industrial Complex

This week we discuss the anonymous 2012 letter sent out to journalists in the hip-hop community about an alleged meeting in 1991 between powerful record company executives and the for-profit prison industry. Apparently after this meeting the tenor of rap music became much more violent, misogynistic, and negative. This conversation obviously leads us down the Rabbit Hole to the point where Sam says blasphemous things about Jay-Z and Ice Cube. The strange disappearance of Dennis Martin and the Appalachian Trail

This week we brought in a special guest host to join Jerimie and Sam and the guys chatted about the case of Dennis Martin, a 6-year-old who disappeared on Father's Day 1969 in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We take a birds eye view of the whole case from his father panicking when the boy disappears and running 2 miles through the woods looking for him to the Green Berets going in to search for the boy and refusing any help from local authorities.
